Platonic realism states that the visible world is just like a shifting exhibition, as the real things cast shadows on the walls. People can easily perceive these by their own intellect and that does not need any sense, perception or imagination. We perceive as universal? For instance? Golden or apple or fear or good or hunger or weapons or human or truths or sin. Plato considered that only mind could access the timeless reality of truths. The way we notice our visible world is, according to Plato, nothing but the forms. Platonic realism, the Doctrine of the forms, is known by pure reason to provide a realist solution to the problem of the universe.
